Roses they Bloom by Elaine Tham (our grad song)
They say, we're never gonna take the fight that comes our way,
But look at us now
We were, gonna write our songs even if they song wrong,
We have to learn how..
Cause in our own stage we'll choose which role to take,
What's truly ours, Nobody else can break
roses they bloom and no body can hide them yeah
when we're together we're stronger
roses they bloom and no strom can shake them yeah
where ever we go we will still grow
we'll jus be blooming on different grounds
they think, when we leave we're gonna fall and break apart
they got no clue
the best things cant be seen they're only felt with the heart
and that you
it's so true
roses they bloom and i'm going to miss you yea
as the seasons change we will still be blooming fast
we'll still be blooming on different grounds
you might not see me when the road bends
but u know this friendship never ends
take a step back forward left or right
i'll be in sight
just rmb
whereever we go we will still grow x2
we'll just be blooming on diff grds..
I can't believe graduation has ended and to think I was looking forward to it!! I love graduation. And yes, now i'm schooless come to think of it, or at least in this month or so. I miss everyone, miss the SN food -the orange bowl stall, everything!! well, maybe not the new school colour that's turning SN into a kindergarten. hahah..
Took 100s of photos but of course I won't be silly and post them all because i think everyone would faint if they saw every one of 'em. Not really nice ones though.. We had Sharon Au as a guest of honour for that night. Preparations started from 2.30pm and all the hustle and bustle withe hairdo and make up blar dee blar blar.. started from 9am, meeting my friends and dressing up, checking in to the Swissotel rooms etc. Was really mad i tell you, and my friend was saying that it feels like we're getting ready for some sort of wedding. well, maybe worse. Oh oh, i had everything done up by a transverstite!!!! haha, she's, or rather HE's really pretty, has this mixed look. The only thing that gave him/her away was the voice and the built. But other than that, everything was great. For one thing, i know i'm going back to him/her for my future performances.... haaa.
Rehearsals were tiring, having to stand on those stupid heels (trust me, they don't look very comfy when you've to wear them for like the WHOLE day/night? wonder how our mothers can go shopping on those for the whole day.. super feet they must have i swear to that ).. plus the crazy air conditioning in the hotel that was literally killing all of us and all we had was a SHAWL? eeeeeew. i had shawls, they don't even keep you warm. I still remember when the entire level was dismissed to rest for around half an hour back in the hotel rooms etc, i was the only student in the ballroom with all the teachers. And that, was probably the 1st time they heard Mr Wong and I sing our 'secret performance'. haahha.. surprised?-->> its 'The Prayer', and many thanks to hector lee for helping to remove some of the vocal parts for us. Then we head on to the actual thing....
had to wait SOOO long for Sharon Au to come, or maybe it seemed like ages when standing on those heels that kill, and snapping photos like anything. When she came, the music went on, we sashayed down the aisle, got to our seats, and FOOOD!!! glorious FOOD!! was probably the only time i ever ate anything for that entire day. good wasn't good, bad i must say.. hmmm. Sharon Au made a speech about dreams, that we should go for them, like how she and her fellow friend Tanya Chua made it. She was pretty emotional, haha.. oh wells but it gave me something to think about at least. After the Prize Giving ceremony and all, the graduation started to build up to its climax... for me, it was my performance with Mr Wong. It was insane i tell you, i mean just imagine everyone running to the front of the stage to see dear Mr Wong (no one has ever heard him sing before so it's pretty much a shock). All the cheering and applauding really made that short 3 mins or so on stage so much more worthwhile... we did an encore at the end too. It was really the best graduation ever..
Just seem to be too many things to say and i'm getting lazy writing them all out. haha, satisfied with leaving them in my mind just this way. :) After grad, (still snapping photos with anyone i can find) i went out roaming Orchard with my girlfriends and ended at the 24hour Coffee Club eating uot Muddy Mud Pie and Apple ala mode.. stole a bit of Clar's New York Cheesecake and Ali's Mushroom soup. We talked, sat there for like hours man, until the next shift change at around 4.30am and then we had to pay and leave all while dear ah siu was talking away on her mobile with ahem ahem* Got back, had a terribly hard time getting all the pins out of my hair, then i ended up looking like some bush lar.. like the pic below..
after all the pins were removed.. UGH!! :S
Next morning, woke up just in time to laze around a bit more before having to pack up and check out. Clar and I went to eat at Out of the Pan Crepes for lunchie. Didn't even get to sleep, cause i met up with pammie and huis at the prata shop near pams hse, and later trooped down to her hse and chilled out in her room. It's like knowing that every minute spent these few times would be one of the last.. Singapore is small and i'm certain that we'll still meet for sure. oh wells.. grad. i'm missing everything already.. really loved my 10 yrs in SN. :) will never forget every part of it.
